SARA ROMERO

Sara Romero is a Spanish freelance illustrator, represented by The Bright Group (UK & USA). She specializes in children's illustration. Sara enjoys creating picture book characters brimming with personality and emotion. Her portfolio also includes character design, puzzle design, greeting cards, and various tailored illustrations. Notable clients include DreamWorks Animation Studio (California), HarperCollins, The Good and The Beautiful (US), Reverie Puzzles (Australia), and ShoeBox Media Publishing (Canada).

Sara has always loved drawing since she was just a child. She can vividly recall spending every available moment immersed in the world of children's books and colored pencils, using them to give life to her own imaginative characters. At the age of 8, she had the opportunity to illustrate a children's book, and another one at 14, all of which were published in Spain.

For several years, she dedicated herself to teaching Infant and Primary Education across various schools, integrating her illustrations into her teaching materials. She stepped away from the teaching profession when she became a mother and decided to prioritise raising her two children. It was during this time that she found herself drawn back to art, reigniting her ambition to pursue a career as a professional illustrator. She began taking art and children's illustration courses, and eventually took the leap to showcase her work on Instagram. This step, taken in 2021, marked the beginning of a new chapter. Since then, she's had the opportunity to illustrate four books professionally, collaborate with inspiring clients, and currently honoured to be represented by the esteemed Bright Agency, with offices in London and New York.
